Launch of Sony Alpha 200 !

With rumors of 4 DSLRs that Sony is going to launch this year, Sony Alpha 200, an entry level DSLR surprisingly takes the lead of the first DSLR to release first in Jan 2008. Considering Alpha 100 is still rather fresh in the market, Sony Alpha 200 can be considered a minor upgrade to Alpha 100 in terms of slightly better focusing, less noisy photos and better interface.

This new entry-level digital SLR has a ten megapixel APS size CCD, Super SteadyShot (as usual), three frames per second continuous shooting, Sony's Dynamic Range Optimizer (DRO), a 2.7" 230,000 pixel LCD monitor and an option for vertical grip control!

Though A Mount fans welcome the news of another Sony DSLR released into the market, they are more eager for the release of more professional models, which at least 1 of them is expected to be a full-frame professional model. Owners of Alpha 100 looking for an upgrade should hold their guns for now and wait until the next Sony launch this year as there is no significant improvements over Alpha 200 over the Alpha 100. The A200 is expected to be coupled up with a standard kit lens at a street price of $700. This sweet little toy will hit shore by Feb 2008.
