| My new Oakley Specs! |

My old Reebok spectacles had been suffering under my torment for 3 years plus already and now it is finally the time for it to rest in the warm comforting Reebok case that had been abandoned since on birth. And I finally got myself a pair of Oakley Specs that I had dreamt of having since 6 years ago. . The specs frame, Oakley Socket 4.0 costs $355 at Capitol Optical (proudly sponsored by my girlfriend, HuiTian as my birthday present) and I have chosen a pair of customised Ellisor transition lens that cost me $540. After some hard bargaining, we managed to reduce the final price to $880 with a couple of free gifts thrown in. "If I could spend a couple of thousands on camera system, why I should not spend some money on a specs that I will be using 24/7. " That my reasoning I tell myself before I made the decision. Up to now, few days later, I did not regret the choice I had made. Just because it is an Oakley (power of branding).
The specs is slightly heavy with my lens, but due to the unique 3 point design of Oakley socket, the pressure seems to be quite evenly distributed and so it was rather comfortable. I can't really felt the effect of transition yet. Up to now, it is stil quite glaring at times. I saw a couple of other Oakley specs on display however I don't really like the design, in fact, this Socket 4.0 was chosen by my girlfriend. :) The standard Oakley vault is quite ugly actually. It look like a short and thick silver cucumber that is hollow on the inside.
The free gifts we managed to grab from the young sales boy are 2 free contact lens lotions and 2 cleaning fibre cloths. We also won a Ellisor cleaning fibre cloth that supposed to cost $5 each and a name card holder through some scractch and win card that you get for every $100 you spend. The service provided by Capitol was quite good, I went back there to adjust my frame again as it was higher on 1 side. The sales boy did the adjustment for me without any complaints. Thought I felt Capitol stuff are quite expensive, I feel that getting an Oakley, one should go to the more branded shop as they are more reputable.
So, do I have a good deal?
