| How to create a fading border effect |

To achieve those fading off effect that can be seen in coffeetable albums, posters and magazines can be really simple if you already know how to do vignetting effect already. In fact, this simple effect can be achieved in 3 simple steps that you will not take more than 5 minutes to learn and apply.
Step 1: Just simply open your photo in Photoshop. Choose the "Rectangular Marquee Tool" and enter a value of 150 into the text input for Feather on the top.
Step 2: Select the area in the photo where you wish to preserve. Anything that is not selected will fade off into the background.
Step 3: After you had selected the area, right click on the photo and choose "Select Inverse". This is very important because you will deleting off the area you wanted to preserve if this is not done. After the inverse is selected, just simply press Crtl+X or cut to cut away those unwanted area.
Conclusion: This is a very simple effect that can make your design work look more professional and this is not very hard to do either! You can play with the Feather value for the precise effect you wanted to have
