Adding Copyright Watermarks on Photos

In the world of digital age, it is getting increasingly easier for crooks to steal a photograph and republish as his own. Adding watermarks are important part of protecting your photographs especially those that are intended for commerical usage.

Copyrights!

To add copyright watermarks in Photoshop:

Step 1: Press Shift+U to open the Custom Shape Tool. Select the Copyright symbol that is within the default list of shapes.

Step 2: Create a new blank layer.

Step 3: Ensure the Fill Pixels is selected before drawing the CopyRight Symbol.

Step 3. Ensure Fill Pixels is selected!

Step 4: Go to Filter and select Stylize>Emboss. Set the Emboss filter set at 135 degree, Height: 3-5 pixels (depending on how striking the image you want to be) and Amount 100%

Step 5: Select Lock Transparent Pixels under Layers Palette for more smooth edges. Go to Filter and select Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur and add 0.5-2 pixels (depending on how blur you want the image to be).

Step 6: Go to Layers Palette and change the layer blend mode to Hard Light. This will make the image transparent. Play with the Opacity level to choose the level of transparency. You have completed the watermarking of copyright symbol.

Step 7: To add wordings, just press T to bring out the Type Tool. Select your preferred font and size and type as normal. After this is done, Right Click on the Type layer and Rasterize the layer to convert it into normal image layer.
